DACS consume very low power and are offered in a tiny package

 Texas Instruments DACx3401 Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACS) are a pin-compatible family of buffered voltage-output DACs. These devices consume very low power and are available in a tiny 8-pin WSON package.

The feature set combined in this tiny package and low power makes the device an attractive choice for applications including LED and general-purpose bias point generation, digitisers, PWM signal generation, power supply control, and medical alarm tone generation.



These devices have non-volatile memory, an internal reference, and a PMBus-compatible I2C interface. The device functions with either an internal reference or the power supply as a reference and offers a full-scale output of 1.8V to 5.5V. The devices communicate through the I2C interface. These DACS support I2C standard mode, fast mode, and fast+ mode.

The devices are feature-rich and comprise PMBus voltage margin commands, user-programmable power up to high impedance, medical alarm tone generator, standalone waveform generator, dedicated feedback pin, and more.

TSMC’s 3nm Plus process will be unveiled in 2023, and Apple’s A17 chip will be the first customer
