Mini LED backlight display cost is expected to be lower than OLED by 2022

 According to a survey released by TrendForce LED Research Center on Wednesday, by 2022, the cost of Mini LED backlight displays is expected to be lower than OLED displays, making Mini LED backlight displays more competitive in the market. TrendForce pointed out that the current cost of Mini LED backlight displays is expected to exceed $100. However, as technology continues to update, the cost of Mini LED displays will continue to decrease, leading to better equipment.


 

The survey shows that the current manufacturing cost of Mini LED backlight displays is higher than that of LCD or OLED displays. However, as manufacturers continue to improve process technology and process output, the cost of Mini LED backlight displays is expected to be reduced by 15%-20% each year.

In December last year, Tianfeng International analyst and Apple analyst Guo Ming Chi stated in the latest research report that in the next 2 to 3 years, Apple will launch 4 to 6 products equipped with Mini LED displays, and it will be the first to be equipped with Mini LED displays.
